Design and teach a course in a subject you know well. Open application, any area.

This is a standing, open application. Tell us which subject or course you would like to teach. The sections below describe what the role involves and how to apply.

What the role involves

  • Designing and teaching your own course on Moodle: materials, exercises and assessments.
  • Answering students’ questions.
  • Keeping the course up to date.

Who we’re looking for

  • Deep knowledge of the subject you want to teach. A formal qualification is welcome but not required. TODO(owner): confirm whether a qualification is required
  • Clear communication.
  • Reliability: students depend on courses being finished and maintained.

How to apply

Email teach@wosm.academy with the subject line Teaching application — <area> — <your name>.

  • Attach a CV and/or a motivation letter, as PDF.
  • Say which area or course you would like to teach.
  • Include a rough outline of the course if you have one.

Start an application email

The button opens your email program with the subject and headings filled in. Please send applications by email only, never through GitHub, Discord or any other public channel.

What happens next

  1. We read every application

    We reply within TODO(owner): number of days.

  2. A short conversation

    A video call about your area and your plans for the course.

  3. You build your course

    You receive course-creator access on Moodle and develop the course there.

  4. Quality review

    The Academy reviews the course before publication: content accuracy, structure, accessibility and licence. The Director carries out this review.

  5. Publication

    Your course opens on Moodle and is listed on this website.

Licensing

Course materials are published under the Academy’s content licence, CC BY-SA 4.0. Please make sure you are able and willing to publish your materials under it before you apply.
